How the Collaborative Process Works
- Team-Based Approach: In addition to attorneys, the process may involve other neutral professionals, such as a neutral coach, financial specialists, child specialists, real estate neutrals valuation neutrals and others as needed.`
- Four-Way Meetings: Most discussions occur in joint meetings with both parties and their attorneys and a coach facilitating open communication.
- Commitment to Settlement: Everyone agrees in writing not to go to court. If the process breaks down, the collaborative attorneys must withdraw.
- Transparent Process: Full disclosure of relevant information is required so that both parties can make informed decisions.
